Groundbreak 2026 Recap

Digital Coworkers Need Compliance Data They Can Trust

Procore Groundbreak 2026 brought the Procore community to Orlando on October 21-22, and the headline was clear: AI agents are moving from demos into the platform. Procore showed agents embedded in its flagship product, a voice-first app for the field and new digital twin work, nine months after acquiring Datagrid to lead its AI strategy.

The line that stuck with us came from the main stage. Introducing the new agents, Procore’s Geoff Lewis noted that bulk submittals were the number three request from users, and told the room: “We don’t earn the right to talk about digital coworkers” until the basics are fixed. For subcontractor insurance compliance, that is exactly the right order of operations.

What Procore Announced

The Agents, The Field and The Ecosystem

Opening day one, Procore CEO Ajei Gopal framed the year around AI that understands construction’s own language. The announcements that followed came in three groups.

🤖
Agents Embedded In The Platform

A submittal agent built with McCownGordon Construction can update up to 500 submittals at once and is live now. A procurement log agent is in closed beta, aimed at replacing the spreadsheets project managers use to track procurement.

🎙️
Voice In The Field

Procore AI Go, a voice-first mobile app that answers questions from project data, entered public beta. A collaboration with Meta brings it to Meta AI Glasses for hands-free questions and first-person photo capture.

🔗
A Wider Ecosystem

Procore announced the next phase of its NVIDIA collaboration for digital twins, an IBM Maximo integration to carry project information into operations, and its first Model Context Protocol connection with subcontractor prequalification platform COMPASS.

Why It Matters

What “Fix The Basics” Means For Subcontractor Insurance

Agents act on the data they are given. When a digital coworker can update hundreds of records in one pass, the quality of the underlying record matters more, not less. Insurance compliance is a good test of that idea, because three basics have to hold before any automation can be trusted.

Part 1

A Certificate Is Not The Policy

The ACORD 25 certificate says on its face that it is issued as a matter of information only and does not change the coverage under the policies it summarizes. A subcontractor can show the right limits on a COI while the policy behind it carries exclusions the certificate never shows. That is why Jones Policy Review reads the policy itself, not just the summary.

Part 2

Fast Is Not The Same As Defensible

The stakes are rising. Marsh reports that US casualty rates rose 7% in the second quarter of 2026, even as global commercial rates fell, with claims severity and litigation pressure keeping the US market tight. When an incorrect approval surfaces only after a claim, the review behind every compliance decision has to be one someone can stand behind. Jones pairs AI agents with insurance specialists: automation for speed and scale, experts for endorsements, exclusions and anything the AI isn’t confident about. That model is how Jones reviews documents within 24 hours.

Part 3

Status Has To Drive Decisions

Procore naming a preferred prequalification partner shows where the platform is heading: subcontractor risk data feeding the decisions teams already make in Procore. Insurance compliance belongs in that same chain, from the bid to mobilization to the next payment. A compliance status only helps if it is current and connected to the moments that matter: who can start work, who stays on site and who gets paid.

Prequalify→Verify Coverage→Mobilize→Pay

Agents move fast. Compliance has to be right first.

Jones At Groundbreak

Two Days At Booth 1110

As a Silver+ sponsor, Jones spent both days of the show at Booth 1110 with Nick Citron, Andrew Goldman and Justin Wiggins, talking with GCs about how the Jones + Procore integration keeps compliance inside the platform their teams already use: requesting COIs from the Jones app in Procore, seeing each subcontractor’s policies and compliance information in the Procore directory, and sending automated renewal reminders before coverage expires.

Groundbreak 2026 FAQ

When and where was Procore Groundbreak 2026?

Groundbreak 2026 took place October 21-22, 2026, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, with optional Procore workshops before the main program.

What did Procore announce at Groundbreak 2026?

Procore showed AI agents embedded in its platform, including a submittal agent that can update up to 500 submittals at once and a procurement log agent in closed beta. It also announced a public beta of Procore AI Go, a voice-first mobile app, a collaboration with Meta to bring it to Meta AI Glasses, and the next phase of its work with NVIDIA on digital twins.

What does “fix the basics” mean for subcontractor insurance compliance?

It means making sure the compliance data in Procore is current and decision-grade before automating around it: valid certificates, the right endorsements, policies reviewed for exclusions, and a compliance status that reflects the evidence behind it.

Can AI verify subcontractor insurance on its own?

AI can extract data from insurance documents quickly, but coverage decisions often hinge on endorsements, exclusions and non-standard wording. Jones pairs AI agents with insurance specialists, so speed comes from automation and accountability comes from expert review.

How does Jones work with Procore?

Jones has an embedded Procore integration. Teams request COIs from the Jones app inside Procore, see each subcontractor’s policies and compliance information in the Procore directory, and can upload insurance documents on a subcontractor’s behalf. Jones also sends automated renewal reminders before coverage expires.

Was Jones at Groundbreak 2026?

Yes. Jones was a Silver+ sponsor at Booth 1110, where the team met with customers, prospects and technology partners across both days of the show.
